Envisioning a New Mixed-use Rental Community in the Golden Mile Area

Our Vision

Dating back to the 1940s, the Golden Mile area has been home to a thriving manufacturing industry - “Golden Mile of Industry” was an appropriate name for it.

The growth led to the development of many industrial buildings in the early part of the 1950s. Residential developments such as those along Craigton Drive, Rannock Street, and Pharmacy Avenue were built in the 1950s, providing housing close to the various manufacturing companies.

Today, only some of the manufacturing companies remain, and more retail employment has moved to the area. Even with this shift in the industry, many people still live and work in the community. One of the main reasons is the convenience the location offers.

We respect the history of the Golden Mile area and the community assets it offers. We also appreciate that there is a forward-looking plan for the area, including the future Eglinton Crosstown LRT and the City’s Golden Mile Secondary Plan Study for a long-term area-wide vision and planning framework.

Complementing a forward-looking plan, we have a unique opportunity to introduce a new Golden Mile community at 9, 15, 19, 23, 32 and 40 Craigton Drive, 1 Rannock Street, and 860 Pharmacy Avenue. We want to create a thriving mixed-use community with purpose-built rental housing, publicly accessible green spaces, and increased connectivity close to public transit for existing and new residents.

By adding more rental units, we will be helping to fill the gap in rental housing availability in the Golden Mile neighbourhood, and the City of Toronto.

Enhancing Public Realm

New publicly accessible green spaces will add vibrancy to the site and positively enhance how people living and working in the area experience the site on a day to day basis.

Transit-Oriented Development

The future Eglinton Crosstown LRT will create many new opportunities for people who live in the neighbourhood to move around the City.
